Jimmy's Inspired "Running" Thoughts: Just like God's word says that the "Mountains will bring peace to the People" ---- Every time I get to the top of a "Mountain when I'm Running" I always feel at peace in my heart knowing that truely "Nothing is impossible with God" Matthew 19:46.... 62) Saturday/28 > 10-miles - 1:14.26 (7.27-pace) 1) 7.13.87 -- 2) 7.32.91 -- 3) 7.26.77 -- 4) 7.35.66 -- 5) 7.27.81 = (37.17.02) -- 6) 7.13.99 -- 7) 7.24.40 -- 8) 7.41.24 -- 9) 7.34.20 -- 10) 7.15.20 My fastest 10-miles in over 4-years on a tougher course. ....At the start of the race it was Cloudy @ 46* with some rain. It rained for a couple of miles and finally quit. I still got wet, and especially my feet with all the puddles of water. But you have to take the good weather with the not so good sometimes, and sometimes the weather can be very unpredictable.
....I started the race with no real goal in mind, but after my first mile I was feeling so good that I started thinking about maybe breaking 1:20, but I decided to see how things went in the next few miles. At the turn around I was under 8min. mile pace so I decided to go for 1:15 not knowing if I could do it. A few weeks ago I broke 1:15 on the Creeper Trail @ 1:14.44 but it's a much easier course than we ran today.
....Going out we had some donw hill, and you know what that means. Every hill you go down on an out and back course you have to climb coming back. But the steepest hill I still only slowed down to 7.41.24 which is not far from (7.30) pace. I had a great time this morning and I actually ran faster than what I thought I would.
....I give God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost all the credit for todays race. They were beside me all the way. also want to "Thank-My-Family" & "Friends" for all their running support. I know that God will always be there, but it sure feels good when others are in my corner of the world too. "Thank-God." 4/R3-Running, oh yeah.... R3 = Richlands Road Runners.
....I may live in Abingdon, Virginia now about 1-hour from my home town in Cedar Bluff, Virginia which is right beside Richlands, but deep down in my heart if I would travel across the world to live I will always be a (Richlands-Road-Runner)....

  1. Congrats on a very fast 10 miler and on a tough course too! I wish I lived closer to mountains like you, but living in the desert valley has its advantages as well.
